About Me

Hi, my name is Ayo Gry Jonassen (they/he)

I’m a non-binary, white, trans/nonbinary person from Denmark, living in Berlin since 2018. My main languages are English and Danish (my German is still a playful work in progress).

I began working as a somatic practitioner in 2019 after studying Sexological Bodywork and co-founding Skinship_Berlin. Since then, I’ve facilitated workshops on pleasure, nature, consent, and intimacy, and collaborated on art projects like When The Body Says Yes by Melanie Bonajo, shown at the Venice Biennale 2022.

My approach to healing and deep change combines dialogue and body contact with a sharpened sense of nervous system regulation, a deep trust in relational bonds, active listening, spiritual growth, and nature-oriented learning. I am especially passionate about building resilience and healing wounds connected to queer experiences.
It gives me so joy to empower the wisdom that arises from queer lives.

Alongside my practice, the last 3 years I’ve personally navigated endometriosis, surgery, and fertility treatments. Pausing testosterone and shifting through a spectrum of hormones in my wish to carry a child, has been both beautiful and challenging.

Professional support and bodywork have been a lifeline. They’ve helped me connect with who I am, and keep going when it was hard to find meaning, hold onto hope, or keep dreams alive. For me, it’s been about staying with vulnerability—sharing the “ugly feelings”—especially in moments of uncertainty, disappointment, and longing for things I can’t fully control. After three years on this path—and still no baby—I feel grateful and proud of all I’ve learned and created along the way.
Together with my chosen family here in Berlin, I’ve been exploring questions of rainbow family constellations, fertility treatment, migration, cultural belonging, commitment, queer futures and much more.

My mission is to create and nurture healthy communities where touch, intimacy, play and relational skills are recognised as essential resources for living with more balance, empathy, and belonging to this world.

Before I started my life in Berlin, I was the manager of a cultural bath house in Copenhagen and was deeply engaged in climate and social justice activism.
-  but thats a whole other story!
