WELCOME BACK!

How can we support each other to come back to a feeling of home within our bodies, our relationships and the world around us?

Our format is inspired by the Pantarei Approach – a unique combination of talk and therapeutic bodywork that supports flow and integration. The group sessions follow a similar arc to what happens in 1:1 sessions: we begin with a conversation about what is present for you right now, then move into a guided touch session that works with the physical expression of what we have just been exploring. We are not looking for what is wrong or in need of fixing – we are looking for what is ready to be welcomed back to joining the flow of life.

Ayo brings a background in Sexological Bodywork and Axel in Somatic Experiencing – together this shapes a particular emphasis on consent, pleasure positivity and nervous system awareness, and on expanding into new territories at a pace that fits sensitive souls.

Everything is welcome – no matter how large or small. A wish for revolution, a grief for the changing world, or a conflict with your flatmate this morning. It all belongs here.

We plan to run this format regularly throughout the coming year. Each evening stands on its own, and you are welcome whether or not you have been before.

Why join a therapeutic group?

We believe group settings can be deeply transformative – there is something that happens when we witness how others navigate similar challenges, recognise ourselves in each other, and realise we are not alone. Sometimes the act of supporting someone else is what moves something in ourselves.

What happens during the evenings?

We begin with a body-based arrival and settle into connection with the group. Each person shares something that is moving in their life – whatever is present, big or small. Each evening we explore a new theme with a short theoretical introduction and a live demonstration of how to work with it. Then you will have the chance to give and receive a bodywork session yourself, and we close with group sharing and reflection.

Throughout, we work with the felt sense as a navigation system – the body's way of knowing what matters.

it is for you if you would like…

  • a space to work with what life brings, in the company of a small group
  • to learn about holding space for yourself and others
  • to explore supportive touch and somatic approaches to personal process
  • a space where queer experiences of gender and sexuality are the majority
  • a space where pleasure is part of the process
  • a space where your agency is respected and your sensitivity welcomed

Background

We draw on 2 years of facilitating the Fierce Queers group programme, 2 years of Under the Skin workshops, and a range of other workshop formats along the way. Woven through all of it is our training in the Pantarei Approach, Mind/Body Therapy, Sexological Bodywork and Somatic Experiencing, and the everyday work of supporting clients in long-term 1:1 processes.

Ayo Gry Jonassen, white, danish/berlinish, non-binary trans (they/ he)

I work as a somatic practitioner, workshop facilitator, and art collaborator, and co-founder of Skinship_Berlin. My trainings includes Sexological Bodywork, Tantra massage,  Mind/Body Therapy, and Pantarei Approach. My mission is to foster healthy communities where relational and emotional intelligence are integral parts of our bodies and nature. Pleasure and consent are core principles in my teachings, and I am particularly focused on healing wounds related to queer experiences while empowering the resources and knowledge that emerge from queer lives. Additionally, I have a background in climate and social activism, as well as in nature and community building.

Axel (he/him), white, danish, trans, dog dad. I have been passionate about building a practice as a somatic practitioner since moving to Berlin 8 years ago. For the past 5 years, this has been my full-time profession and I continue to feel a lot of gratitude about being able to do this work. I have trained in Bodywork through the Pantarei Approach and Somatic Experiencing. I am involved in the Stretch Festival, an embodiment festival for queer masculinities, where I work as a co-curator. Building bridges of understanding between the diverse identities within the queer community holds a special place in my heart. I also have a background in social justice work, centered on better access to healthcare for trans people and other gender minorities.
